Westin Excelsior

Rome's "Villa La Cupola Suite at the Hotel Westin Excelsior has all the Roman and excessive - a cupola, a Pompeii-style Jacuzzi, frescoes and stained glass windows - except perhaps a vomatorium. Located on the fifth and sixth floor under the dome of the hotel (which was made famous of Fellini's films), includes suite 6099 square feet and has an additional 1808 square meters of balconies and terraces. Even if it only has two rooms, five more can be connected to them. The whole package was only restored in 1998 at a cost of around 7 million U.S. dollars.

So what did facelift to bring? The dome itself is entirely hand-frescoed, and the fifth floor with master bedroom, a terraced study that was covered in Italian walnut and a living room. The glass windows in the living room detail allegory connected to a mythological figure with a modern, as Atlas and Television, Hypnosis and Neurosis, Hermes and marketing, and Hermaphrodite and Fashion. The first floor also has its own kitchen and dining room with an antique Murano glass chandelier, a private wine cabinet and an antique mosaic tile-covered dining room.

And this is just the beginning. What really makes this suite is on the tip of a private cinema with Dolby surround sound. Such luxury makes even the private elevator that looks up to the hot tub and fitness area - complete with mosaics, frescoes and ceiling - usually. (The painted horizons on the frescoes were designed to fit perfectly with the real Roman the book.) Now living la dolce vita. The suite with two bedrooms costs € 11,400 (approx. $ 9880), with the five optional bedrooms the price is 16,500 euros ($ 14,312).
